Before You Start: Two Quick Checks

MyTVOnline3 is the app that runs on Formuler boxes. It loads a portal. A portal is a web address that holds your list of streams and your login details. If the box cannot reach that address, you get an error.

Before you change anything, check these two things:

  • Does another device in your home load web pages on the same network?
  • Do you have your portal address and login details from your provider ready?

If the answer to the first question is no, the problem is your router or your internet line. Fix that first. The box is not the problem.

How to Fix MyTVOnline3 Connection and Portal Errors

The fixes below are ordered from the quickest to the hardest. Do not skip ahead unless the table above points you there. After each fix, reopen the app and check the result before you move on.

Fix 1: Box Is Offline → Restart the Box and the Router

A frozen network stack is the most common cause. A restart clears it in about two minutes.

  1. Unplug the power cable from the Formuler box.
  2. Unplug your router and modem as well.
  3. Wait 30 seconds. This lets the parts reset fully.
  4. Plug the modem in first. Wait until its lights are steady.
  5. Plug the router in, then the box.
  6. Open MyTVOnline3 again.

If the error is gone, you are done. If not, go to the next fix.

Wi-Fi drops are common in rooms far from the router. A thin or unstable signal makes the portal time out.

The best fix is a wired link. Plug an Ethernet cable from the router to the box. A cable is steadier than Wi-Fi and has no radio noise.

If you cannot run a cable, try this:

  • Move the router closer, or place it higher in the room.
  • Switch to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band if your router offers it. It is faster over short range.
  • Keep the box away from microwaves, thick walls and metal shelves.
  • Disconnect devices that are using lots of data, such as game downloads.

High-quality streams need a steady line more than a fast one. Large video providers explain this idea in their material on media delivery, for example Akamai Media. A stream that arrives in a steady flow plays better than one that comes in bursts.

Fix 3: Portal Not Found → Re-enter the Portal Address Carefully

A single wrong letter in the portal address will break the link. This is the cause behind most "portal" errors.

  1. Open MyTVOnline3 and go to the screen where portals are listed.
  2. Select your portal and open its settings, or remove it and add it again.
  3. Copy the address from your provider message. Do not type it by hand if you can avoid it.
  4. Check for extra spaces at the start or end of the address.
  5. Check that the address begins with http:// or https://, exactly as your provider gave it.
  6. Save the portal and reopen it.

Watch for look-alike characters. The number 0 and the letter O are easy to confuse. So are the number 1 and the letter l. If your provider sent a code or a link, paste it in rather than retyping.

Fix 4: Login Fails → Check Your Details and Your Plan

If the portal opens but you cannot sign in, the problem is on the account side. There are three usual reasons.

  • Typing mistake: User names and passwords are case sensitive. Check capital letters.
  • Old details: If your provider sent new details, the old ones stop working.
  • Ended plan: A subscription that has run out will not sign in.

With SubTV IP, plans run for 1, 3 or 12 months, and activation is instant after you order. If your plan has ended, renew it and use the new details you receive. An ended plan always needs a renewal.

If you are not sure which case applies, message support on WhatsApp. Give them the exact error text you see on screen. That helps them find the cause faster.

Fix 5: Empty Lists → Clear the App Cache and Data

Old saved data can block a fresh load. Clearing it forces the app to start clean.

  1. Close MyTVOnline3 fully.
  2. Open the box settings and find the apps or applications section.
  3. Select MyTVOnline3.
  4. Choose the option to clear the cache first. Reopen the app and check.
  5. If the problem stays, clear the app data as well.
  6. Open the app again and add your portal from the start.

Note that clearing data removes your saved portals. Keep your portal address and login details close before you do this. Menu names differ a little between firmware versions, so look for wording close to the steps above.

Fix 6: Stops and Restarts → Switch to Cloudflare DNS

DNS is the system that turns a web address into a number that computers use. Your internet provider runs its own DNS by default. Sometimes it is slow, or it routes your traffic badly.

A common fix is to use Cloudflare DNS. The address is 1.1.1.1. You can set it on the box network settings, or on your router so every device uses it.

  1. Open the network settings on your box, or open your router admin page.
  2. Find the DNS option. It may be hidden under advanced or manual settings.
  3. Switch from automatic to manual DNS.
  4. Enter 1.1.1.1 as the main DNS.
  5. Save, then restart the box.

This step also helps with throttling. Throttling means your internet provider slows down some kinds of traffic. Changing DNS will not fix every case, but it is a quick step and it is easy to undo.

Fix 7: Constant Buffering → Raise the Buffer to 5,000 ms

The buffer is a small store of video that the player loads ahead of time. A bigger buffer gives the player more room to ride out short drops in speed.

For streams that keep stalling, set the buffer or cache to 5,000 ms. That is five seconds of video held in advance. Many players have a buffer or cache option in their settings. Look for it in the player or playback section.

The fact sheet for SubTV IP lists these players as supported: TiviMate 5.x, IBO Player Pro, IPTV Smarters Pro, Kodi 21 and Flex IPTV. If MyTVOnline3 keeps giving you trouble after the steps above, you can load your subscription in one of these players on another device to see whether the issue is the app or the line.

A bigger buffer has one cost. The stream takes a moment longer to start. Most people accept that in return for steady playback.

Fix 8: Time and Date Warnings → Set the Clock to Automatic

Secure connections check the date and time on your box. If the clock is wrong, the secure check fails and the portal will not load.

  • Open the date and time settings on the box.
  • Turn on automatic date and time from the network, if the option exists.
  • If not, set the correct date, time and time zone by hand.
  • Restart the box and open the app again.

This is a small fix, but it solves a surprising number of strange errors.

Fix 9: Nothing Loads → Update the Firmware and the App

Old software can break against newer server settings. Updating is the hardest of the simple fixes, because it takes the longest and it needs a stable line.

  1. Connect the box by cable if you can.
  2. Open the system settings and look for a software or system update option.
  3. Install any update that is offered and let the box restart.
  4. Open the app store on the box and check whether MyTVOnline3 has an update.
  5. Install it, reopen the app and add your portal again.

Do not unplug the box during an update. That can damage the system files.

Router Settings That Often Cause Portal Errors

If the box still fails, look at the router. Some routers have security features that block streaming traffic by mistake. Check these items:

  • VPN on the router: A VPN can slow traffic or block a portal. Turn it off and check.
  • Content filters: Parental or web filters may block the portal address.
  • Firewall rules: A strict firewall can cut off the link. Return it to default and check.
  • Too many devices: A busy network can starve the box of speed.

Change one thing at a time. If you change three things at once, you will not know which one made the difference.

Technology news sites often cover router and internet provider issues, for example NBC News Tech. They can be a useful place to check whether a wider internet problem is affecting many people in your area.

What to Do If Nothing Worked

If you have been through every fix and the error is still there, take these last steps.

  1. Write down the exact error text and the time it happens.
  2. Try your subscription in a second player on a different device. This shows whether the box or the line is at fault.
  3. Contact your internet provider if every device has trouble loading streams.
  4. Message support on WhatsApp with your error text, your portal address and the fixes you already tried.
  5. As a last resort, do a factory reset of the box, then set it up again from the start. This erases everything, so save your details first.

Clear notes save time. Support can help much faster when they know what you already tried.
