To run IBO Player on an LG TV, install IBO Player Pro from the LG app store and write down the MAC address and Device Key it shows. Then add your playlist on the official IBO Player website. Restart the app, and your channels load.
What You Need Before You Start
Get these things ready first. It makes the whole setup take just a few minutes.
- An LG Smart TV running webOS. webOS is the system LG TVs use for apps and menus.
- A stable internet connection. A cable (Ethernet) works best. Good Wi-Fi works too.
- Your LG Magic Remote or the standard LG remote.
- A phone or computer with a web browser. You need it to add your playlist.
- Your subscription details. This is either an M3U link or an Xtream Codes login (more on both below).

Step-by-Step: Install IBO Player Pro on LG webOS
Follow these steps in order. Each step is one action on your remote.
- Press the Home button on your LG remote.
- Open the app store. On newer TVs, choose "Home > Apps". On older TVs, choose "Home > LG Content Store".
- Select the Search icon (the magnifying glass) at the top of the screen.
- Type "IBO Player Pro" with the on-screen keyboard.
- Select IBO Player Pro from the results.
- Press Install and wait for the download to finish.
- Press Launch to open the app.
- Write down the MAC address and Device Key shown on the screen. A MAC address is a code that identifies your TV. The Device Key is a password that goes with it.
Keep the app open, or come back to it later. Your MAC address and Device Key stay the same each time you open it.
Step-by-Step: Add Your Playlist
IBO Player does not come with any channels. It is a player, like a DVD player with no disc inside. You add your own playlist from your subscription.
- On your phone or computer, open the official IBO Player website.
- Find the login or "Manage Playlist" area.
- Enter the MAC address and Device Key from your TV screen.
- Choose Add Playlist.
- Type a name you will remember, like "Home TV".
- Paste your M3U link, or pick the Xtream option and enter your server URL, username and password.
- Press Save.
- Go back to your TV and close IBO Player Pro.
- Open IBO Player Pro again. Your playlist now appears on the start screen.
- Select your playlist and wait for the channel list to load.
The first load can take a little time. Big playlists have lots of channels and guide data to download.
M3U Link or Xtream Codes: Which Should You Use?
Your subscription usually gives you two ways to log in. Both work in IBO Player Pro. Here is how they compare.
| Feature | M3U Link | Xtream Codes Login |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | One long web address that holds your full channel list | Three short details: server URL, username and password |
| How easy it is to enter | Easy to paste, hard to type by hand | Easier to type without mistakes |
| TV guide (EPG) | May need a separate guide link | Usually loads the guide on its own |
| Categories | Shown as one list, or grouped if the link supports it | Usually split into live, movies and series |
| Best for | Quick copy and paste from your phone | Most users who want a tidy menu |
Our advice: try Xtream Codes first. It is shorter to enter and keeps your menus neat. Use the M3U link if Xtream does not load.
Make Streams Smoother on webOS
Your setup works now. These extra steps help stop stalls and buffering. Buffering is when the video pauses to load more data.
Use a Wired Connection When You Can
An Ethernet cable gives a steadier signal than Wi-Fi. Plug one end into your router and the other into the LAN port on the back of your TV. This matters most for 4K streams.
Change Your DNS to Cloudflare (1.1.1.1)
DNS is like a phone book for the internet. It turns website names into addresses. Some internet providers slow down streaming. This is called throttling. Changing your DNS can help.
- Press the Settings (gear) button on your remote.
- Go to "Settings > All Settings > General > Network".
- Pick "Wi-Fi Connection" or "Wired Connection (Ethernet)".
- Open "Advanced Wi-Fi Settings" (for Wi-Fi), then choose "Edit".
- Uncheck "Set Automatically".
- Enter 1.1.1.1 in the DNS Server box.
- Select Connect to save.
Menu names can change a little between webOS versions. Look for words like "Advanced" or "Edit" if yours looks different. Tech sites such as eWeek cover how DNS and network speed work if you want to learn more.
Set the Buffer to 5,000 ms
A buffer is a small amount of video the app loads ahead of time. A bigger buffer helps on slower connections. Open the IBO Player Pro settings and look for a buffer option. If your version has one, set it to 5,000 ms (5 seconds).
If a Step Fails
Most problems have a quick fix. Find your problem below.
- Can't find the app in the store: Check the spelling. Then update your TV in "Settings > All Settings > General > About This TV". Older webOS versions may not show every app.
- Playlist does not show up: Check your MAC address and Device Key on the website. One wrong letter stops it working. Close the app fully and open it again.
- "Playlist failed to load" error: Check your login details for typos. Try Xtream Codes instead of the M3U link, or the other way around.
- Video stalls or buffers: Switch to Ethernet. Set DNS to 1.1.1.1. Raise the buffer to 5,000 ms.
- Wrong guide times: Fix your clock in "Settings > All Settings > General > Time & Date" and set it to automatic.
- App acts strange: Unplug the TV for 60 seconds, then plug it back in. If that fails, uninstall IBO Player Pro and install it again.
