Install IBO Player from the Samsung Apps store, open it, and write down the MAC address and device key on the screen. Then enter both codes on the official IBO Player website and add your playlist. Restart the app, and your playlist loads.
What You Need Before You Start
Setup goes faster if you have these four things ready:
- A Samsung Smart TV running Tizen. Tizen is the system Samsung uses on its smart TVs.
- A stable internet connection. A network cable (Ethernet) is more stable than Wi-Fi.
- A phone or computer. You will use it to open the IBO Player website.
- Your playlist details. You get these from your subscription provider, either as an M3U link or as an Xtream Codes login.
Not sure your TV handles 4K HEVC well? HEVC is a video format that makes 4K files smaller, so they stream more smoothly. Expert Reviews has reviews and specs for many Samsung models.
How to Download IBO Player on Samsung TV
IBO Player is in Samsung's own app store. Follow these steps with your remote:
- Press the Home button.
- Go to Apps.
- Select the search icon (the magnifying glass).
- Type "IBO Player".
- Select the app, then select Install.
- When it finishes, select Open. You can also add it to your Home screen.
You may see both IBO Player and IBO Player Pro. Both use a MAC address and device key, so the steps below work for either one. SubTV IP lists IBO Player Pro as a supported player.
What If the App Doesn't Show Up?
The apps in the store depend on your country and your TV's model year. Older Samsung TVs may not list it at all. Update your TV first under Settings > Support > Software Update, then search again.
Where to Find Your Device Key and MAC Address
Open IBO Player. The first screen shows two codes:
- MAC address: letters and numbers split by colons. The app uses it as your TV's ID.
- Device key: a short number. It works like a password for that MAC address.
Write both codes down, or take a photo of the screen with your phone. If you skip past this screen, you can usually find both codes again in the app's settings or info section.
Key Setup Terms Compared
This table shows what each code is, where you find it, and where you type it.
| Item | What it is | Where you get it | Where you enter it |
|---|---|---|---|
| MAC address | Your TV's ID inside the app | IBO Player start screen | IBO Player website login |
| Device key | A password tied to your MAC address | IBO Player start screen | IBO Player website login |
| M3U URL | One web link that holds your whole playlist | Your subscription provider | "Add Playlist" on the website |
| Xtream Codes login | A server URL, username and password | Your subscription provider | The Xtream option on the website |
| DNS | The "phone book" your TV uses to find servers | Your network settings | The TV's network menu |
How to Activate IBO Player: Step by Step
"Activation" can mean three different things here. Knowing which is which saves a lot of confusion.
1. Activating the IBO Player App
IBO Player is only a player. It has no content of its own. The app has its own activation, which is separate from any streaming subscription. Check the official IBO Player website for its current terms.
2. Linking Your Playlist
- On your phone or computer, open the official IBO Player website.
- Find the login or "Manage Playlist" section.
- Enter your MAC address and device key exactly as they appear on your TV.
- Select Add Playlist.
- Give the playlist a name and paste your M3U URL. Or pick the Xtream option and enter the server URL, username and password.
- Select Save.
- On the TV, close IBO Player completely and open it again.
Your playlist should now load. The first load may take a bit longer, because the app is building its lists and guide.
3. Activating Your Subscription
Your playlist details come from your streaming provider. With SubTV IP, your account is active right after you order. You choose a paid plan of 1, 3 or 12 months.
You can pay by PayPal or credit card. You then enter your login details in IBO Player, as shown in step 2.
Fix Common IBO Player Problems on Samsung
"Invalid MAC or Device Key"
This is almost always a typing mistake. Look out for look-alike characters, such as 0 and O, or 1 and l. Copy both codes from the TV screen again, slowly.
The Playlist Will Not Load
- Check the M3U URL for missing characters.
- Make sure you selected Save on the website.
- Unplug the TV for 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
- Check that your subscription is active.
Buffering or Freezing
Buffering is when the video stops to load more data. SubTV IP runs an anti-freeze server cluster with 99.9% uptime. So the problem is often your home network or your internet provider (ISP).
Some ISPs slow down video traffic on purpose. This is called throttling. Two settings help:
- Switch your DNS to Cloudflare (1.1.1.1). On most Samsung TVs, go to Settings > General > Network > Network Status > IP Settings. Set DNS Settings to Enter manually and type 1.1.1.1. Menu names can differ a little by model year.
- Raise the buffer to 5,000 ms. The buffer is a small amount of video the app loads ahead of time. If your player has a buffer or cache setting, set it to 5,000 ms, which is five seconds.
A wired Ethernet cable helps too. Wi-Fi drops out more often, especially when many devices share it.

Other Players and Devices You Can Use
IBO Player is a good fit for Samsung TVs, but it isn't your only option. SubTV IP also supports these players:
- TiviMate 5.x
- IPTV Smarters Pro
- Kodi 21
- Flex IPTV
The Samsung store doesn't carry every one of them. TiviMate and Kodi are built for Android. They work better on an Android TV Box, a Fire TV Stick 4K Max or a Xiaomi Mi Box S.
LG webOS TVs and Apple TV are supported too. On any device, only play content you have the right to watch.
Your Next Step
IBO Player is now installed, and you know where to find your device key. The last thing you need is a reliable playlist.
SubTV IP offers 4K / 60 fps HEVC streams and instant activation. If you get stuck, you can reach support on WhatsApp.
