To set up SS IPTV on an LG webOS TV, install it from the LG Content Store. Then open the app's settings and add your M3U playlist link under "External Playlists." Save it, go back, and open your playlist.
What You Need Before You Start
Have these things ready first. The setup will go much faster.
- An LG Smart TV with webOS. webOS is the system that runs LG TVs.
- A steady internet connection. A network cable works best, but good Wi-Fi is fine.
- Your M3U playlist link. An M3U link is a web address that points to a list of streams. Your provider gives it to you.
- Your LG remote. The Magic Remote has a pointer, which makes typing easier.
- An LG account. Some TVs ask you to sign in before you can install apps.
One honest note: SS IPTV is not on SubTV IP's list of supported players. It reads standard M3U links, so it can still work. If it gives you trouble, switch to a supported player. We cover that below.
How to Set Up SS IPTV on LG webOS, Step by Step
Follow each step in order. Menu names can look a little different between webOS versions, but the path stays close.
- Press the Home button on your remote and open "LG Content Store." On newer TVs, this tile may be called "Apps."
- Select the search icon, type "SS IPTV," and pick the app from the results.
- Press "Install." Wait for the download to finish, then press "Open."
- Accept the app's terms if a message pops up.
- Select the gear icon in the top corner to open "Settings."
- Go to "Settings > Content > External Playlists."
- Press "Add" to make a new playlist.
- Type a short name, such as "My Playlist." This name shows on the main screen.
- Type your full M3U link in the link field. Check every letter, slash, and number.
- Press "Save" in the top corner of the screen.
- Press the Back button to return to the main screen. Your new playlist tile should appear.
- Open the tile and wait a few seconds while the list loads.
- For smoother playback, set your DNS. Go to "Settings > All Settings > Network > Wi-Fi Connection > Advanced Wi-Fi Settings > Edit." On some models, "Network" sits inside "General."
- Turn off "Set Automatically," type 1.1.1.1 in the DNS box, and press "Connect."
- Turn the TV off and back on. Then open SS IPTV again.
That is the full setup. Most people only do it once, since the app remembers your playlist.
If a Step Fails
Small problems are common. Most of them have a quick fix.
SS IPTV Is Not in the Store
The app may not be listed in every country. First, update your TV software under "Settings > All Settings > Support." On some models, look under "General > About This TV."
If the app still does not show up, use a supported player instead. IBO Player Pro is on SubTV IP's player list. Search for it in the LG Content Store.
The Playlist Will Not Load
A typo is the most common cause. Even one wrong letter can break the link.
- Check upper-case and lower-case letters. Links are often case-sensitive.
- Make sure the link starts with "http://" or "https://," as your provider sent it.
- Remove any extra spaces at the start or end.
- Delete the playlist and add it again from step 6.
The Picture Stops or Buffers
Buffering means the video pauses to load more data. Set the DNS from steps 13 and 14 if you skipped them. A network cable also helps a lot.

Ways to Load Your Playlist on LG webOS: Comparison
There is more than one way to get your playlist onto the TV. This table shows the main options side by side.
| Method | Where to Find It | Typing on the Remote | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Add link inside SS IPTV | "Settings > Content > External Playlists" | Full link typed with the remote | Short links and a quick setup |
| SS IPTV connection code | "Settings > General > Get code" | Only a short code, entered on a computer | Long links that are hard to type |
| Switch to IBO Player Pro | LG Content Store search | Depends on the app | A player on SubTV IP's supported list |
The connection code method needs a computer or phone. You type the code into the playlist editor on the official SS IPTV website. Then you upload your link there instead of typing it on the TV.
Smart TV apps change their menus from time to time. Tech news sites such as 9to5Google report on streaming apps and TV software updates. So if a menu looks a bit different on your screen, look for the closest match.
How to Cut Buffering on Your LG TV
Some internet providers slow down video traffic. This is called throttling. Two simple settings can help.
Change Your DNS to 1.1.1.1
DNS is like the internet's phone book. It turns website names into number addresses. Your TV normally uses the one your internet provider picks.
Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1) is a common choice that many people use instead. You set it once in your network menu, as shown in the steps above. If you want to learn more about how home networks work, university sites such as UC Berkeley are a good place to start.
Set the Buffer to 5,000 ms
A buffer is a small amount of video your player saves ahead of time. A bigger buffer gives the stream a cushion when your connection dips.
If your player has a buffer or cache setting, set it to 5,000 ms. That equals five seconds. The video may take a moment longer to start, but it plays more smoothly after that.
Use a Wired Connection
Wi-Fi signals get weaker through walls and floors. A network cable from your router to the TV gives a steadier signal. If you can, use one for 4K streams.
Why a Premium Service Matters for webOS Streaming
The app is only half of the setup. The service behind your playlist matters just as much. A weak service will buffer on any TV.
SubTV IP is a premium streaming subscription that lists LG webOS as a supported device. Here is what it offers:
- 99.9% uptime, so the service is almost always online.
- A server cluster built to stop picture stalls during busy hours.
- 4K streams at 60 fps in HEVC. HEVC is a video format that keeps 4K files smaller, and most 4K LG TVs can play it.
- Instant activation right after your order.
- Plans of 1, 3, or 12 months.
- Secure payment with PayPal or credit card.
- WhatsApp support when you need help.
It also works with other players and devices. The supported players are TiviMate 5.x, IBO Player Pro, IPTV Smarters Pro, Kodi 21, and Flex IPTV. Supported devices include Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Samsung Tizen TVs, Android TV boxes, Xiaomi Mi Box S, and Apple TV.
