TiviMate error 403 means the stream server got your request but refused to let you in. The cause is usually your login, too many devices, your IP address, or an old playlist link. Work through the fixes below in order, starting with the quickest.
What Does Error 403 Mean in TiviMate?
403 is an HTTP status code. A status code is a short number a server sends back to say how a request went. 403 means "Forbidden."
So the server is online, and it can see you. It just won't give you the stream. That is good news. It means the server is working, and the problem is usually your account or your network.
TiviMate is only a player. It does not host any channels. It plays the playlist your provider gives you. That is why a 403 almost always comes from the provider's server, not from the app itself.
Error 403 vs Other TiviMate Errors
Each error code points to a different problem. Use this table to make sure you are fixing the right one.
| Code | Name | What It Means | Where to Look First |
|---|---|---|---|
| 401 | Unauthorized | The server needs a valid login | Username and password |
| 403 | Forbidden | The server sees you but blocks access | Subscription, devices, IP address, user agent |
| 404 | Not Found | The link points to nothing | Playlist URL or channel link |
| 500 / 503 | Server Error / Unavailable | The server itself has a problem | Wait, then contact your provider |
Causes and Fixes, From Quickest to Hardest
After each fix, open a channel again. Stop as soon as the stream plays.
Expired or Wrong Login → Check Your Account Details
If your subscription has ended, the server blocks you with a 403. A small typo in your username or password can cause it too.
- Open your order email or account page and check the end date.
- Compare your username and password with what you typed into TiviMate.
- In TiviMate, go to Settings → Playlists and open your playlist.
- Fix any wrong details, then reload the playlist.
Too Many Devices at Once → Close Extra Connections
Most plans allow a set number of streams at the same time. A "connection" is one device playing one stream. If you go over your limit, the server may block the newest stream.
- Stop playback on your other TVs, phones and laptops.
- Fully close the app on those devices, don't just leave it in the background.
- Remember that each window in TiviMate's multi-view counts as its own stream.
- Wait two to three minutes so the server can clear old sessions.
- Open the channel again in TiviMate.
Wrong Date and Time → Turn On Automatic Time
Many stream links carry a token. A token is a short code that proves your access is still valid, and it often depends on the time. If your device clock is wrong, the token can look expired.
- Open your device's main Settings.
- Find Date & Time and turn on automatic time.
- Make sure the time zone matches where you live.
- Restart TiviMate and play a channel.
Old Playlist Link → Update the Playlist
Providers sometimes change their server addresses. TiviMate may still be using the old link it saved.
- Go to Settings → Playlists.
- Select your playlist and choose Update playlist.
- If your provider sent a new link, add it as a new playlist.
- Remove the old playlist so the app doesn't mix them up.
Blocked User Agent → Change It in Playlist Settings
A user agent is a short label your app sends to tell the server what it is. Some servers only accept certain labels. They return a 403 to everything else.
- Go to Settings → Playlists and open your playlist.
- Find the User agent option.
- Enter the value your provider recommends.
- Save, then update the playlist.
Only change this if your provider gives you a value. Typing a random one can make things worse.
ISP or IP Block → Switch Your DNS to 1.1.1.1
Your ISP is your internet service provider, the company that sells you internet. DNS is like the internet's phone book. It turns server names into number addresses. Some ISP DNS servers block or slow down certain addresses.
- Open the network settings on your device or router.
- Set the first DNS to 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare DNS).
- Set the second DNS to 1.0.0.1.
- Restart your router and your device.
- Open TiviMate and play a channel.
Every router menu looks a bit different. How-To Geek has easy, step-by-step guides on changing DNS settings.
Using a VPN? Try turning it off, or pick a different server. Some stream servers block IP addresses that come from shared VPN servers.
Outdated App or Bad Cache → Update and Clear TiviMate
Older app versions can send requests that servers now reject. The cache, which is a store of temporary files, can also hold a bad link.
- Update TiviMate to version 5.x from your app store.
- On Android TV, go to Settings → Apps → TiviMate.
- Tap Clear cache. Don't tap "Clear data" unless you are ready to set everything up again.
- Restart your device.
- If the error stays, delete the playlist and add it again.
What to Do If Nothing Worked
If the 403 is still there after every fix, the block is most likely on the provider's side. Your device and app are probably fine.
- Try another player. Load the same playlist in IPTV Smarters Pro. If it fails there too, the problem is your account or the server.
- Try another network. Connect your device to your phone's hotspot. If the stream plays, your home ISP is blocking it.
- Contact support. Send the error code, your device, your player and the time it happened.

How to Stop Error 403 From Coming Back
Good habits fix most problems before they start. A stable provider fixes most of the rest.
Keep these settings in place:

- Set your buffer (or cache) to 5,000 ms in players that offer this setting. A buffer is a small amount of video loaded ahead of time so playback stays smooth.
- Keep TiviMate updated to 5.x.
